Quantic DreamQuantic Dream has announced that the PS4 exclusive android adventure Detroit: Become Human has surpassed two million sales, making it the studio’s fastest selling game to date.
These impressive numbers put Detroit ahead of Quantic’s previous efforts The Nomad Soul (1999), Fahrenheit (2005), Heavy Rain (2010), and Beyond: Two Souls (2013), despite some very divisive reviews – critics seemed to either love or hate this one.
If you compare Detroit’s numbers to other 2018 PS4 exclusives like Spider-Man and God of War, then the numbers admittedly aren’t that massive. But given that Detroit wasn’t working with an established franchise, nor did it have the face and name of a popular Marvel superhero on its front cover, I think we can all agree that it’s still an impressive showing from Quantic.
Interestingly enough, Quantic gave a pretty odd response on Twitter when asked if the game had actually made a profit. Personally, I reckon they just don’t feel obligated to share those numbers with the public, but some have perceived the response as Quantic dodging the question.

Of course, all anyone can really do is hope their work can improve on what they’ve done before. By that metric, Detroit: Become Human has absolutely been a success.
