New Line CinemaOh behave! Mike Myers has essentially confirmed a fourth Austin Powers movie much to the delight of pretty much everyone on earth with a sense of humour.
From International Man of Mystery, through The Spy Who Shagged Me and Goldmember, the satirical British womanising spy has captured the hearts of comedy fans from every walk of life.
And the fun’s not over yet. He’s back for a fourth… 99.9 per cent chance of it.
At the premiere of his new project Bohemian Rhapsody, he said that not is an Austin Powers 4 in the works but that one of his legendary characters will be making a comeback ‘soon’.
‘The [fourth Austin Powers] movie… it’s looking good,’ he said as per Digital Spy adding: ‘They take a long time to write, they always have.’
‘You’re going to see Dr Evil soon, somewhere in the culture,’ he said.
Speaking earlier this year, Myers said: ‘You know, I’ve been very… I’ve had three kids in the last six years and that’s sort of where my focus has been.’
He had previously said he wanted to do one in honour of his late father.
Myers explained:
I would love to do another, but you just have to see. I was devastated by my father’s death but to have that turn into something that makes people happy is unbelievably satisfying. It’s that kind of stuff you never get used to or get tired of.
He certainly sounds a lot more committed now.
The Austin Powers franchise is huge. Altogether the trilogy has grossed $876.3 million, which for reference, is a whole lotta money! Yeah baby, yeah!
