A woman who confessed on a television show she ‘forgets to wash her vagina’ has responded to the backlash.

Nune Obe appeared on this week’s episode of E4’s Sex Clinic to get advice from health professionals on how to address bacterial vaginosis, an infection she’d contracted.

Admitting she noticed a ‘fishy smell’, Nunu explained how she forgets to clean her vagina, leaving expert Sarah shocked.

Prior to her appointment, Nunu told the cameras:

I need to make sure I’m clean that’s the most important part. I need to get tested because it’s not a good look if you have an STD. I’m a bit nervous.

While it was revealed Nunu was clear of all sexual transmitted diseases, she was advised to wash her privates.

The NHS advises, while every woman is different, as a general rule, you should avoid perfumed soaps, gels and antiseptics, as these can affect the healthy balance of bacteria and pH levels in the vagina and cause irritation.

Instead women should use plain and unscented soap to wash the area around the vagina (the vulva), gently every day.

The vagina naturally cleans itself inside the body through vaginal secretions.

After Nunu’s admission on the show, she received backlash on Twitter, with people saying they were shocked by her claim.

One person tweeted:

OMG this girl forgets to wash her nunu.

She was shocked when they told her to wash twice a day… girrl that’s standard, dirty girl.

While one person had a question for her:

How the hell do you forget to wash your vagina?

Another was taken aback by Nunu’s admission, tweeting:

Sorry what???? She ‘forgets’ to wash her vagina???? EXCUSE ME?????

Nunu has since responded on Twitter, defending herself, claiming she meant she only forgets to wash her vagina after sex, not ‘in general’.

Tweeting in all caps, Nunu wrote yesterday (February 19):

F*CK EVERYONE ON HERE WHOS SAYING I (NUNU) DONT WASH MY VAG.

I WAS REFFERING ABOUT AFTER SEX NOT IN GENERAL. I WONDER HOW MANY OF YOU MOTHER F*CKERS WASH AFTER SEX. YALL FALL ASLEEP.

She also retweeted several of her supporters’ posts, including one which read:

This is all a joke. I swear Nunu Obe said she forgets to wash and pee after sex!! Everyone has fallen asleep after. You all stunting for social media.

While another tweeted:

Nunu articulated herself poorly. She meant that she forgets to wash her vagina after sex.
