McDonald’s New Christmas Menu Is Their Best Yet

McDonalds Festive A

Christmas dinner with the family is often said to be the most important meal of the year, and rightly so.

However, there are other meals in December which we will all inevitably munch our way through. The Christmas market hog roast, the supermarket turkey butty and, of course, some festive fast food from the McDonald’s drive-thru.

McDonald’s is a reliably satisfying treat when you can still feel last night’s mulled wine evaporating from your every frozen pore. And the 2018 Christmas menu is looking very tempting indeed.

Dare I say, this could be their greatest festive offering yet….

Now I’m not saying McDonald’s could ever outdo your mum’s Christmas Day roasties, but there’s enough going on here to make you gather your reindeer and sledge right on over there, pronto.

This year, McDonald’s will be bringing burger buffs a chicken version of the revered Big Tasty, in a tasty twist none of us saw coming.

Containing two chicken selects, this innovative addition will appear alongside the OG beef patty right up until the end of January. Which is ideal considering January is a miserable month which can only be made bearable by filling your tummy with yummy food.

At £3.99, it’s a tad cheaper than the classic Big Tasty you’re used to (£4.29), which is always nice around this time of year. As per, it’s 40p extra if you want to add a cheeky bit of bacon.

A Chicken Big Tasty Medium Meal will cost £5.49 compared with £5.79 for the Beef Big Tasty Medium Meal.

The Chicken Big Tasty isn’t the only new name on the block, with enough new grub on offer to keep you nibbling through the 12 days of Christmas.

I must say, the Cheese Melt Dippers option has well and truly caught my eye, being of the firm opinion Yuletide should be Roule-time, with cheeseboards galore in every home.

These dippers are made with melting Camembert cheese, which you can dunk into a ‘tangy’ tomato dip. An ideal tree decorating snack, for the fairly reasonable price of £1.69.

No festive feast would be complete without something sweet and sugary to make you feel as giddy as a kid trying to sleep on Christmas Eve. And this year, Maccy’s have stepped up their game.

Their Malteser reindeer McFlurry will no doubt set taste buds jingling, served in a standard size for £1.29, and a mini size for 89p.

If, like myself, seasonal hot drinks are your downfall, then McDonald’s have released a wintery beverage to rival Starbucks.

Their Millionaire’s Latte whips together an espresso shot mixed and hot milk, swirled with caramel biscuit syrup, and crowned with an indulgent cloud of chocolate-flavour cream, finished off with some caramel sauce.

For those counting the calories, you can grab a bag of adorable Reindeer Treats – ie carrots – for 79p; ideal for imaginative little ones.

Head of marketing at McDonald’s UK, Steven Howells, said, as reported by The Sun:

It’s that time of year where we want to bring back favourites, but also introduce new twists to the menu.

We know customers look out for them during this season, so we want to give them an unforgettable festive taste.

You can try out the new festive range from November 21. It’s beginning to feel a lot like Christmas indeed…
