The young boy who went viral earlier this week because no one showed up to his birthday party has been treated to VIP treatment at a basketball game.

Teddy Bollinger from Tucson, Arizona, invited 32 of his school friends to a pizza party at a restaurant, but none of them ended up going according to his mother.

His mum, Sil Mazzini, had already been warned by some of the parents that their kids couldn’t make it, but she had no idea there would be absolutely no guests present at all.

Six-year-old Teddy should have been having the time of his life celebrating his special day, but instead he was left eating alone.

The picture of him sat by himself quickly went viral, breaking everyone’s heart when they saw his brave little face frowning at the empty table.

His mum Sil told ABC15:

I’m done with parties for a while.

As reported by Fox 10, Sil had made up 32 goodie bags for Teddy’s classmates, each containing a party invite. She had even spoken to some parents the day before the party who said their kids would be going.

The tearjerking photograph went viral after being shared by Tucson reporter Nick VinZant alongside the following message:

If you get a chance please wish Teddy a Happy Birthday. His mom sent me this after his friends weren’t able to make it to his birthday party.

Fortunately, numerous happy returns for the day have poured in for little Teddy from far and wide, with many well-wishers offering words of support and even presents for the young boy.

And now Teddy’s wildest dreams have come true, as basketball club the Phoenix Suns quickly got wind of the incident and swooped in to save the day.

After hearing about what happened, the club tweeted saying:

And they have lived up to their promises.

Not only did Teddy get to go to the game, according to TMZ, he also got his own custom jersey which I’m sure he will treasure for years to come.

He didn’t get just any seats either, he got to sit courtside and watch LeBron James play – not something every six-year-old can brag about!

To top off his amazing day, he also got to meet stars Josh Jackson and Trevor Ariza. Who’s laughing now, hey?

Look at that smile!

And who knows, more surprises could be on the horizon for little Teddy as The Phoenix Suns weren’t the only ones to tweet him after the upsetting incident.

Soccer club The Phoenix Rising also invited young Teddy to ‘join 7,000 of his closest friends’ at an upcoming playoff game, tweeting:

Teddy can get The Mala from @VeneziasPizza and join 7,000 of his closest friends this Friday. Come on out Teddy! #UpRising

Birthday messages came from all over the world, and Teddy was more than happy with the responses.

In a sweet video message sent to UNILAD, Teddy said:

Thank you all for the birthday wishes. Big kiss.

Happy Birthday Teddy, from all your friends at UNILAD!
