The idea of pranks has gotten a bad rep following the online prankster boom whereby people would do some of the most horrible things and write it off as “it’s just a prank, bro.”
However, there are still the good kind of pranks—ones that don’t harm anyone and everyone gets to have fun in the process.
Incidentally, one such harmless, yet pretty cool prank was pulled off recently, where this one guy asked the camera people at a baseball stadium to effectively give a video shout-out to his roommate who was on a date in that very stadium.
Going to a baseball game is a great option for a second date, especially if your roommate improvises a harmless prank along the way

So, gaming video creator and businessman Connor Buckley, a.k.a. BuckArmy, has a roommate, Matthew, a.k.a MBoneHD, who recently went on a second date with a lovely lady named Emma to the Arizona Diamondbacks vs. Miami Marlins baseball game.
Having just finished recording a podcast where he got drunk (it’s the point of the podcast), and knowing that his friend would be on a date at the televised game, he tuned in to watch—maybe he’d see how the date was going.

So, he asked Diamondbacks Stadium to zoom out the camera so he could see

However, all of the cameras were capturing the action on the field and up to 4 rows of spectator seats. So, light bulb moment, why not get in touch with the people behind the Diamondbacks Stadium and ask them if they could zoom out the cameras.
Well, what they did was better. Connor went to Twitter and tagged the Diamondbacks account, asking to do the above. They forwarded him to the camera crew, but were very intrigued with finding out how his friend was doing on the date as well.

They started asking questions as to where to look for the roommate. Several tweets later and some frantic searching, they ran into a dead end and called it quits. But Connor didn’t—he called his friend, got the exact location without revealing his master plan, and the search continued.
Moments later, bingo, they found him. After a brief intermission (Matthew and his date left for a bit), they start tweeting how they found the people who match the description, laughing and looking at a phone. And then they featured the lovely couple on the big screen.
They couldn’t find the couple, so Connor found out the exact location and shared with the camera crew

And it worked!

Connor did share what they were laughing about—the two found out about Connor’s impromptu scheme and texted him that he was in trouble.
Needless to say, this made everyone’s day. Matthew’s date went well, they became stadium-famous immediately (and beyond the stadium), security guards approached them to chat, fans came over to get some pictures. And before you ask, yes, there was a third date.
Connor didn’t plan this at all, but after seeing how serious the Diamondbacks are about it, he played along

People online loved this story and it went viral almost immediately. Most of Emma’s family and friends found out about it all before she could tell them, so you can imagine.
It has made numerous headlines online and even found its way on websites like Imgur, where it garnered over 118,000 views with nearly 6,000 upvotes. Many found it wholesome and adorable, praising Diamondbacks stadium for doing this, others saying that Connor deserves a wingman award, though he didn’t really orchestrate it, but rather enabled it.

It all culminated with the camera crew setting the couple up in the big screen, showing everyone how the date’s going

And before you ask, yes, there is going to be another date.
