Guy Shares How The Whole ‘Self-Help’ Industry Is Fake Since It Only Provides Solutions For Rich People

Anxiety disorders affect a whopping 6.8 million adults, or 3.1% of the U.S. population. Unfortunately, only 43.2% of those suffering are receiving treatment, says AADA (Anxiety And Depression Association Of America.) And the pandemic has made our emotional health even worse as now a fifth of U.S. adults (21%) are experiencing high levels of psychological distress, reports Pew Research center.

No wonder psychological health and emotional wellbeing have become buzzwords for the past year, as more and more people have become concerned about them. But one Twitter user has recently pointed to the not-so-pretty side of popular and well-discussed “solutions for preventing anxiety.”

In a viral thread, mental health advocate Rory McCarthy has listed all the ways anti-anxiety fixes are designed for rich people only. “[They] are ‘work less and don’t be poor’ when you really look at it,” he stated. Read the illuminating thread below and make sure to share your insights on the topic in the comment section.
