The Famous “DQ Dad” Reunites With His Sons At The Same Restaurant, And They Get Their Own Family Booth

Not so long ago, a man from the suburbs of Atlanta has made the internet tear up with just a few Instagram posts. In them, Brandt Barber shared pictures he took of himself and his sons at a local Dairy Queen in Forsyth County, Georgia, over the years. For about seven years, the family would go to the same place, sit in the same booth, order the same things, and see the same staff.

The final picture showed Bud alone at their table after his boys left for college. As proud as he was to see his sons grow into responsible and successful young men, he couldn’t help but feel a sting of sadness that things will never be the same again.

Brooks, one of Bud’s sons, later upload screenshots of his dad’s post onto his Twitter along with the caption “Why did my dad have to go this hard on Insta and why am I crying in Nashville right now?” He also gave a short update to the over 1 million people who liked the tweet, assuring them that the tradition is far from over. “To give everyone some peace of mind, my dad and I have an incredible relationship and yes my little brothers and I will be heading back to DQ with pops soon.”

And the family kept their word. Recently, Brooks shared photos of their reunion saying, “Well folks, we finally made it back to DQ with our dad, only this time with our new booth.” Recognizing their unique bond, the ice cream chain has immortalized their table with a fancy little plaque that reads: “Barber Family Booth.”
