2K GamesGood news, everyone! Borderlands 3 has finally, finally been officially revealed, so we can all stop speculating over whether or not one of the worst kept secrets in gaming is ever going to be announced. Thank God.
A stylish, moody reveal trailer was played by developer Gearbox during PAX East, after teasing on Twitter earlier in the month that it’d be showing off something new to its patient fans.

There are plenty of interesting details to unpack from that brief tease. There’s a quick glimpse at Handsome Jack, implying that the former antagonist might make a return. There’s a very familiar looking bot that looks an awful lot like Claptrap hiding in there, which is great news for fans of the rambunctious robot.
We also get a look at what I assume will be the new playable characters, each with their own unique abilities and skills. As was previously leaked, there are four new classes: Soldier, Siren, Assassin and Beast Master.
Soldier will apparently be able to summon a Titan mech, and Siren will be a melee-focused character, Assassin will be a handy addittion that can create decoys, and Beast Master will let the player choose between three pets.
There’s also the implication that a number of features and enemies will return, including vehicles, psychos, and a truly obscene amount of weapons. Seriously, there are so many weapons in the new trailer – but it wouldn’t be Borderlands without, would it?
2k GamesThe last core game in the series was the brilliantly titled Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel. That was released back in 2014, and while we’ve had a couple of remasters and even a VR port in the intervening years, it’s high time we got back to some proper Borderlands action.
