A quarter of Brits say the ‘perfect’ Valentine’s night ends in sex, according to a recent survey.
A poll of 2,000 men and women asked them to list their top five activities for a dream February 14.
Most men would like a drink, a meal, and sex, while the majority of women would prefer a takeaway and a bottle of wine over a night of steaming passion.
The research was carried out by Lottoland, with the study carried out by OnePoll, ahead of Wednesday night’s Lotto Plus draw.
CEO Nigel Birrell said:
If you’re looking for a way to impress your date this Valentine’s Day, this survey proves that you don’t need to be flash.
It’s great to see that spending the evening with our partners is a strong favourite, and clearly, we just want to do things together in a world where we are glued to our smartphones and our collective idea of indulgence is binge watching a box set online.
It’s nice to see that our top five evenings involve nothing but good old fashioned favourites like spending time with loved ones and having a slap up meal – no technology required.
The top five Valentine’s Day activities for women were:
1. Meal in a restaurant
2. Takeaway and a bottle of wine
3. A good conversation
4. Sex with partner
5. Reading a book
The top five Valentine’s Day activities for men were:
1. Meal in a restaurant
2. Sex with partner
3. A drink in the local pub
4. Takeaway and a bottle of wine
5. Watching sport on TV
While a meal in a restaurant came top of the list for both men and women, if you fancy yourself as a bit of a Gordon Ramsay in the kitchen, why not treat yourselves to some heart-shaped sausages from M&S, delightfully paired with some heart-shaped Yorkshire puddings from Aunt Bessie’s?
If that’s not a Valentine’s Day match made in heaven I don’t want to know what is.
Happy Valentine’s Day y’all.
