Could this be the end to one of the greatest Twitter ‘feuds’ ever?

I hope not. Also, I highly doubt it. Actors have to do something in between shoots, right? And Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman just do the whole mock-beef thing too well to give it up completely. Let’s say it’s a temporary pause, yeah?

The reason behind the pause (I’m sticking with it), is that Jackman and Reynolds have agreed to make commercials for each other’s companies.

Jackman launched Laughing Man Coffee in 2011, while Reynolds has a hand in Aviation American Gin. The two actors have decided to put an end to their ‘feud’ by starring in an advert for the other’s company, and in doing so they’ll harbour nothing but goodwill and positive vibes towards one another from now on.

Taking to Twitter, Reynolds wrote:

Official truce with @realhughjackman! As a gesture of goodwill, I’m gonna make a beautiful ad for his company, Laughing Man Coffee. Can’t wait!

While Jackman said:

Official truce! I’m going to make the most amazing ad for Aviation Gin. And, look forward to seeing what @Vancityreynolds comes up with in return.

Jackman launched his coffee company in 2011 to ‘provide a marketplace for farmers in developing countries to sell their goods to consumers in the U.S.’

He started the business after visiting Ethiopia in 2009 and meeting coffee farmers there. 100 per cent of Jackman’s profits go back into the Laughing Man Foundation, which supports educational programs and community development around the world.

Reynolds, meanwhile, bought a ‘significant’ stake in Aviation American Gin in 2018, becoming its creative director in the process, The Drinks Business reports.

Seems like he’s enjoying his new, creative role, too:

With a Deadpool 3 film on the way, something tells me Ryan Reynolds won’t be able to resist throwing a few more jibes at Jackman, aka Wolverine, in the process. After all, it’s great promo if nothing else.

Then again, perhaps he’s sticking to his word about the third instalment, which he said would go ‘in a completely different direction’. And so that direction doesn’t involve making fun of Wolverine? I just can’t see it.

The different direction instead seems to be because of the upcoming merger between Disney and Fox, reports Variety.

‘Often, they reboot or change a character maybe like four movies too late’, Reynolds said, sounding pretty happy about the decision to change direction from writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick.

Before Deadpool 3 was officially confirmed, Reynolds expressed some doubts to Entertainment Weekly about where the franchise could go next.

The actor said:

I feel like the character, in order for him to function properly within his own universe, you need to take everything away from him. I don’t think that you can keep doing that.

Although the Merc was always going to return to slice and dice his frenemies in X-Force films, Reynolds explained a solo sequel would need to ‘break all kinds of weird barriers, and do stuff that no-one else can do’.

And no one can feud with Wolverine on Twitter like Deadpool can.
