PAThe Super Bowl is over for another year.
The New England Patriots are left with a sense of elation after a grinding 13-3 victory in Atlanta led by Tom Brady in his ninth Super Bowl appearance, while the LA Rams are left tired and defeated.
But has anyone come out of the Super Bowl worse off than Maroon 5? Well, other than the viewers at home who were subjected to a pretty bang average show…
Following in the footsteps of Lady Gaga’s halftime show last year was never going to be an easy ask.
So the Super Bowl halftime show organisers decided to eave the job in the capable hands of a band most of us assumed had split circa the early noughties after She Will Be Loved was released and peddled at school discos up and down the country…
And Travis Scott and Big Boi.
Needless to say, people weren’t that impressed after watching the performance on the evening of Sunday 3 February.

Some said the experience lasted ‘too long’ and others said the show was ‘rough’ and even ‘boring’ which, considering how much money the spectacle would’ve cost is pretty cutting criticism.
After seeing SpongeBob introduce the band, one user said it was ‘the worst halftime show in history’.

Even basketball legend LeBron James admitted he was confused by the proceedings, writing:

Maroon 5 kicked off the halftime show, performing several songs from their 2002 debut album, Songs About Jane. The predictable blast from the near-distant past was too much for several millennial fans’ to process, apparently.

Levine and Scott then came together to duet on the latter’s track Sicko Mode before a marching band later introduced Maroon 5’s 2018 hit single, Girls Like You, originally featuring Cardi B.
Cardi B turned down the offer to perform alongside Maroon 5 at the Super Bowl halftime show to support Colin Kaepernick, who bent the knee during the American national anthem played ahead of an NFL game in 2016.
He subsequently departed from the San Francisco 49ers, and is still without a team today, for his show of solidarity with those who are oppressed.
