Apex Legends has been a massive hit for developer Respawn Entertainment and publisher EA, hitting 25 million players in one week and garnering plenty of love and praise along the way.
It’s great to see Apex Legends getting so much love, especially after Respawn’s under-appreciated Titanfall series, an excellent shooter that sees players jump into giant mech suits called Titans to cause all manner of mayhem.
Given Apex Legends is supposed to be a spinoff to Titanfall, some fans have been wondering if giant mech suits of the “core” franchise will ever make an appearance in the battle royale.
Respawn’s executive producer Drew McCoy had previously said that the team had considered making such a move, but decided that allowing behemoth Titans to run rampant in the battle field would probably unbalance the game.
He explained to IGN:
They were meant to be a giant power up for a period of time. Whereas battle royale games, and specifically Apex Legends, are trying to be a much more level playing field. When we tried Titans that weren’t as powerful or had kind of ‘gotchas’ to them, it really ruined that power fantasy of what a Titan is or should be. And at that point, why have them in the game?
While that sounds like a pretty definitive argument against ever seeing Titans in Apex Legends, an intriguing new leak posted by ApexGameInfo on Twitter actually points to the giant robots making an appearance at some point.
The Twitter account has flagged some coding found in the game that reads, “GetDefaultTitanSegmentHealth,” with a value of 2500, as well as another bit of coding that implies players will be able to see enemies from further away while inside a Titan.
Check it out below:
According to this the “Titans” default health will be 2500 but the title of the file is “sh_titan_triple_health”. I’m still finding more files but everything is a bit jumbled up.

This is far from confirmation that Titans will be smashing into Apex Legends, but I could totally see Respawn introducing some kind of limited time mode, kind of like when Thanos popped up in Fortnite.
