A ski resort is offering a Dumb and Dumber holiday package complete with tuxedos and top hats.
After taking inspiration from the classic 1994 comedy, the Curtis Hotel in Denver, Colorado, is offering its guests the opportunity to live out the life of Dumb and Dumber’s Harry and Lloyd for one very special, and probably very strange, weekend.
The hotel is known for giving homages to pop culture with entire themed floors and bedrooms. In the past they’ve covered Star Trek, The Shining and Ghostbusters, but their latest package promises to be the perfect experience for two people, Lonely Planet reports.
The ski vacation package allows you to travel in style with private jet transportation to and from Aspen; a posh ski town which Lloyd described as ‘a place where the beer flows like wine, where beautiful women instinctively flock like the salmon of Capistrano’.
If that didn’t sell you on the trip, then the hotel have even more to offer. The ‘Harry & Lloyd’ package mimics the characters’ trip to Aspen and presents guests with a few nods to the film, along with a two night stay in the hotel and two single-day lift tickets for Aspen Mountain, where you can each hit the slopes on a new pair of Icelantic skis.
Just be sure not to get your tongue stuck to the metal bar of the ski lift, no matter how delicious the frost might look.
Of course, the film theme wouldn’t be complete without the chance to dress up in a couple of brightly coloured orange and powder blue ruffled tuxedos, which look as if they’re straight out of the 1960s, with matching top hats to complete the classic look of the bumbling pair.
Guests will stay in the Corner King Deluxe room and receive a $100 food voucher at The Corner Office, the hotel’s bar and restaurant, so you can eat like kings while dressed in your fine suits and channel the two vacuous characters.
Though you’ll actually arrive to Aspen on board the swish stylish jet, you don’t have to worry about missing out on a wobbly scooter experience as a three-hour moped rental allows guests to tour the sites of Denver. I’m not entirely sure if you’ll have to share a scooter like in the film, but it would probably be a fun experience either way!
On top of all that, you’ll also be given $200 to spend on hotel spa services, brunch, and a 12-pack of beer from the Aspen Beer Company to see you through the flight home.
While it might be your dream to live out the 90s movie, the extensive package doesn’t come cheap, and will set you back a whopping $10,000 – though remember $300 of it will be given back to you in the form of spa services and food.
If only you could stumble upon a case full of cash to help pay for the experience!
For a cheaper way to experience the lives of Lloyd and Harry, I’d advise just watching the film.
