Great news then, as Vice President and Managing Director at Sony Interactive Entertainment Europe Warwick Light recently revealed in an interview with MCV UK that the company plans to double down on single player experience.

He explained:
Buzzwords are one thing, what our players are demanding is another. There’s still a huge audience for games that offer the best in single player narrative with stunning gameplay, as witnessed by the enormous popularity of both Spider-Man and God of War in this year’s charts. I was just at the Golden Joysticks – God of War won five!It’s great to hear that the Sony bosses are well aware of the critical and commercial reception to these single player games, and an encouraging sign that the company will continue to deliver these story driven experiences on PlayStation 4 and beyond.
After all, it can’t have escaped Sony’s attention that God of War took home the award for Game Of The Year at The Game Awards. Even if Spider-Man was sadly snubbed at every turn during the LA ceremony, the night served as further proof that single player isn’t going anywhere.
