RDR 2 Glitch Fuels Rumours Of Red Dead Redemption Remaster DLC

One of the best things about Red Dead Redemption 2 is how the prequel managed to flesh out the world and characters, and add a new depth to the first Red Dead Redemption

With that in mind, I think it’s fair to say many of us who’ve finished RDR2 have a real hankering to go back and play the first game again. Great news then, as a newly discovered glitch seems to imply that we might well be getting a Red Dead Redemption remaster as DLC within RDR2.

I’ll warn you now – do not read any further if you’ve yet to finish RDR2, as there will be pretty major spoilers regarding the end of the game if you scroll past Arthur and Jack the spoiler doggo.

Okay, so during the game’s epilogue, you find yourself playing as John Marston as you construct Beecher’s Hope ranch, try to live a quiet life, and generally move towards the events of Red Dead Redemption.

YouTuber Elemeno Peah uploaded a very interesting voice glitch that was discovered while playing as Marston. Interestingly, while greeting NPCs, John seems to start speaking with the voice of adult Jack Marston.

Why is this interesting? Well, fans will know that the original Red Dead Redemption also had an epilogue – one in which you played as a grown up Jack Marston. Check the video out for yourself below – it certainly sounds like adult Jack to me.

This obviously isn’t a confirmation of anything, but I’m not entirely sure what else adult Jack’s voice would be doing in the game.

There’s a chance he’s meant to be a character in Red Dead Online or some other multiplayer mode of course, but if they’re keeping the Online strictly within the time of RDR2, that seems unlikely.

It might well be wishful thinking, and it would be an absolutely huge thing to release as DLC, but given most of the original Red Dead Redemption map is already in RDR2, it’s not the craziest stretch to imagine that Rockstar could turn around and drop something like this on us.

After all, I’m sure there are plenty of people who never played the first game that are now eager to continue the story, and it would be a treat to play through it in this gorgeous new engine.

As ever cowboys, take this with a massive pinch of salt. Although now the possibility is on the table, I don’t think I’ll be able to stop thinking about it.
