We’ve had Cloud Strife in Super Smash Bros, we’ve seen Sub Zero in Injustice, and we’ve even seen Negan in Tekken. Now, the fans want Doomguy in Mortal Kombat 11, and I back them all the way.
I honestly can’t think of a better character to guest in the next Mortal Kombat. The bloodiest, most gruesome fighting game on the market is a perfect home for the silent protagonist of DOOM, a man who probably has a PHD in ripping people’s legs off and beating them to death with said legs.
A Reddit user by the name of Doughnut_Panda recently posted a “petition” to get Doomguy in Mortal Kombat 11, and the idea has absolutely blown up on r/gaming, where the post currently sits proudly (and rightfully) at the very top of the page.
The post has been met with an overwhelmingly positive response, with many dreaming just how badass Doomguy would be if he stepped into the Mortal Kombat ring.
He certainly wouldn’t take any crap for anyone, what with the fact that the dude’s day job usually involves him heading into the bowels of Hell itself to beat the living snot out of everything in there.
It’s nothing more than a pipe dream for now of course, but hopefully if the idea gets enough traction NetherRealm will take notice and work with Bethesda and id Software to make it a reality.
For now, we can look forward to a DOOM-less Mortal Kombat 11 when it launches April 23.
