Arthur Morgan might not look like it on the face of things, but the grizzled outlaw is actually a rather contemplative fellow.
In the quieter moments of Red Dead Redemption 2, he’ll often jot down his musings on the world around him, recent events, or even stop to sketch out something of interest.
By the end of the game, Arthur’s journal becomes a real page turner. A collection of random thoughts, sketches, and commentary on his fellow outlaws.
Personally, I like to think Arthur lies on his stomach in bed at night, fluffy pink slippers adorning his feet, asking his journal why Sadie doesn’t want to go out with him, and why that Micah kid is so damn mean.
Anyway, the journal has proved to be such an inspired piece of lore design that fans of the game are desperate to see Rockstar give the thing physical form. To be fair, the musings of a murderous outlaw has all the makings of a Christmas number one, and could be a great stocking filler.
Over on the Red Dead Redemption 2 subreddit, users are really keen on the idea of being able to buy a real version of Arthur’s journal, and I’d have to agree.
It’s definitely something I’d buy, and would be a really cool little collector’s item for those who really got invested in the life of Arthur Morgan – which is basically everyone who played the game.
Until Rockstar decide to make such an item a reality – which could take anywhere between 10 to 15 years – we have the Red Dead Redemption 2 companion app, which is a nice way to skim through the journal on your mobile device.
In other Red Dead Redemption 2 news, we’ve now got to the point where more and more players have reached the ending, and there are a lot of people who aren’t too happy about what they’ve found.
