How To Get All Three Starter Pokemon Early In Let’s Go

Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu/Eevee serve as remakes of the Game Boy classic Pokemon Yellow – as such, you can actually add Charmander, Squirtle, and Bulbasaur pretty early on without the need to trade.

While you have no choice but the start the new Switch game with either Pikachu or Eevee (depending on the version you buy) it won’t be long before you come across the original starter ‘mon – if you know where to look.

Unlike Pokemon Yellow, there are actually two ways to get your hands on the starters in Let’s Go. You can either find them in the wild, or (as in Yellow) get them as gifts from specific NPCs.

Obviously, the easiest route is to head straight to the NPCs and pick them up without any faff. The only catch is that you need to have caught a certain number of Pokemon before they’ll hand over your prize, although this number includes repeats, so as soon as you get your first Poke Balls, start throwing ’em indiscriminately at everything you see.

Let’s get to it then. If you want Bulbasaur, there’s a woman in a house in Cerulean City who’ll be happy to hand the little cabbage over once you’ve caught 30 Pokemon total.

If you want Charmander to add some fire to your life, you’ll want to find the man on Route 24, north of Nugget Bridge after you’ve caught 50 Pokemon.

Finally, if you want to add Squirtle to your team (and why wouldn’t you?), all you have to do is find Officer Jenny in Vermillion City once you’ve caught 60 Pokemon.

Additionally, it’s been reported that you can find wild Charmander in Rock Tunnel, Bulbasaur in Viridian Forest, and Squirtle hanging out at Seafoam Islands.

Theoretically then, the quickest – if not easiest – way to get Charmander and Bulbasaur would be to find them in the wild, but if you want a Squirtle ASAP then the NPC is your best bet.

Follow these simple steps in Pokemon Let’s Go, and before long, you’ll have a powerful Charizard, Venusaur, and Blastoise by your side. The Elite Four won’t know what hit ’em.
