Sony has announced further details on what to expect from the Spider-Man DLC, starting with The Heist, a story expansion which will be rolled out on October 23.
The Heist is the first of three expansions planned for the PS4 exclusive, all under the umbrella of The City Never Sleeps. This first add-on chapter will kick off what Insomniac Games promises is an “interconnected story” spanning all three DLC chapters.
As you play Marvel’s Spider-Man: The Heist, you’ll encounter the beginning of a new, interconnected story taking place over the three chapters of Marvel’s Spider-Man: The City That Never Sleeps. A robbery at an art museum entangles Spider-Man and MJ with an old flame from Peter Parker’s past, Felicia Hardy, aka Black Cat.In addition to new story missions featuring Black Cat, we’re also told we’ll be getting new side missions, new crimes to stop, a whole new faction of enemies, and three new suits for Peter to try on.
The new suits, which you can see below, certainly look spiffy. From left to right we have the (newer) Scarlet Spider suit, a new design called the Resilient Suit, and the Spider-UK suit.
If that wasn’t enough for you, Sony also revealed that Spider-Man is getting a free update tomorrow (October 17), which finally introduces the more challenging New Game Plus, and an Ultimate difficulty setting, for all the master wall-crawlers out there.
