Notice that I was trying to act all nonchalant and cool about the game just then, but in truth I am so ready to dedicate a few months to Rockstar’s open world epic that I’ve already faked my death in certain social circles.
Just to be clear, I think guns are truly nasty things – except when they’re in video games and aren’t actually hurting anyone, in which case the more the merrier.
Rockstar Games
According to the official Red Dead Redemption 2 site, the game boasts a fulsome 50 weapons, each with their own customisation options and ammo types to help determine stats like accuracy, range, and damage.Weapons level up based on how much you use them, and – insert groan here – they need to be kept in good condition to stop them from degrading and ultimately breaking apart in your hands like an old rich tea biscuit.
You can customise with your weapons with the standard additions – stuff like barrels, grips, sights, and scopes to enhance performance. But you can also make some nice aesthetic changes too, because you have to have the most on fleek gun in the West.
You can even pick custom engravings for your weapons, to really make the gun pop. If this was the kind of thing you did in real life, you’d probably be the sort of person most people hurry to get their kids away from. In a video game, it’s okay!
I’m scared that once Red Dead Redemption 2 takes me on October 26, I’m never coming back to reality.
