A new adapter is coming that allows you to use your old PS1 and PS2 consoles through a HDMI port, allowing for a classic gaming experience with a shiny high resolution twist.
Limited Run Games has teamed with Pound Technology to be the “exclusive preorder destination” for this awesome new PS1/PS2 HDMI adapter.
Experiencing games on their original consoles is an important experience for many purists, but there’s never really been a super easy way to enjoy them in the highest resolution possible.
Thankfully, this new adapter completely does away with the faff, making it as easy as plugging in a thing to another thing. Sorry if I got too technical for you there.
The PS1/PS2 HDMI adapter is expected to ship “mid to late November”, and provides a wonderful alternative for gamers who don’t want, or perhaps couldn’t preorder the recently announced PlayStation Classic console from Sony, which launches December 23.
Whichever route you decide to take, it’s undeniably a good time to be a fan of retro gaming – even Sega is getting in on the action with an unofficial classic console that lets you play your old cartridges, and the rumoured N64 Mini is bound to be announced soon.
