The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, have today announced they are expecting their first child together. The little prince or princess-to-be will be sixth in line to the throne, although this could alter depending on whether the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge – aka Wills and Kate – choose to have any more children.
The announcement was officially confirmed today, and members of the royal family are said to be delighted.
The baby is due in Spring.
Harry and Meghan fans – on both sides of the pond – have been eagerly anticipating this moment ever since the Royal lovebirds tied the knot back in May 2018.
During their post-engagement interview with the BBC, Harry dropped some serious hints the couple had spoken about starting a family together, stating:
Of course. You know, one step at a time. Hopefully, we’ll start a family in the near future.

Back in March 2018, Royal expert and author of Harry: Life, Loss, and Love, Katie Nicholl, told Entertainment Tonight:
Meghan is very doting with children, she is very maternal and she was thrilled to meet George and Charlotte. I think one of the lovely things, anecdotes that I discovered [while writing] the book was, it was actually a moment involving children, when Meghan really fell for Prince Harry.
The reason he [Harry] wanted Meghan to meet Prince George and Princess Charlotte was so she could see that this would be hopefully replicated by them, that they would go on to have children,
