According to new reports, it looks like a live-action version of the popular anime and manga series My Hero Academia is on the way.

The Hollywood Reporter notes that Legendary Entertainment has announced this live-action feature film will adapt Kohei Horikoshi’s beloved manga, with Toho set to distribute the flick in Japan.

Details are understandably very thin on the ground at this early stage. While we have no news on potential directors or stars, we do know that Legendary will be producing the film with Alex Garcia and Jay Ashenfelter, alongside Shonen Jump publisher Shueisha’s Ryosuke Yoritomi.

Legendary Entertainment adds My Hero Academia to a fulsome slate of feature films, including the Detective Pikachu film nobody asked for. At least that’s set to star Ryan Reynolds, so it might end up being okay, Maybe.

There’s also Godzilla: King of The Monsters, and Godzilla VS Kong to look forward to. No idea what either of those are about, to be honest.

Kohei Horikoshi launched My Hero Academia back in 2014. The series now has an eye watering 17 million copies in circulation. It anime series meanwhile, is now in its third season, while an animated feature, My Hero Academia: Two Heroes, was released this year.
