ITVThe Twittersphere is full of people criticising Piers Morgan on a daily basis – it’s simply a fact of life.
It could be for one of many reasons: Morgan may have criticised a celebrity dad for being ’emasculated’ for carrying his baby in a particular way, or he might have questioned a guest’s intelligence while interviewing them.
Whatever it is he has done though, it usually causes a backlash and people on Twitter let him know exactly what they think of him.
We wouldn’t normally expect an official broadcaster to insult the TV presenter though; after all, there are certain rules regarding professionalism and bias etc…
But it would appear that Christmas has come early because Channel 4 have ripped into Piers Morgan – quite publicly – on their official Twitter account.
Earlier today (October 26), the UK broadcaster tagged him in a tweet which said:

Well that’s my morning made. I might send Channel 4 a quick email to see if I can handle their social media for the day…
Now, you might be reading these tweets and thinking their account has been hacked or a gruntled ex-employee has taken umbrage with the broadcaster and is getting revenge in a creative way.
But the tweets are here to stay, as the whole thing is actually a clever part of Channel 4’s Stand Up To Cancer initiative.
Earlier in the day, they tweeted to say that they would be ‘rewarding’ people who have donated towards the cause.
For £5, the broadcaster stated they will ‘follow you, give an opinion on your avatar or tweet a nice message about your mum’. For a tenner, they will ‘creatively insult you, ask your Twitter crush out for you or write you a love poem’.
The prices increase slowly but surely, offering people bigger and better rewards as the donations become higher.
The £50 mark is where things start to get interesting though, as Channel 4 promised to insult Piers Morgan if you donated that much – hence the many, many insults.
Clearly, Piers is not the most popular man to walk the earth.
The day could take an interesting turn later on, depending on whether people are willing to donate £100 or not. That’s because the broadcaster have promised to tweet d*ck pics to those who donate that much.
The rewards just keep on coming, until the maximum reward of a ‘personal training session with Foxy’ is offered for people who donate £1000.
I’ve got to say, it’s the most interesting fundraising tactic I’ve seen in a while and hopefully it will raise loads of money for such a good cause.
Stand Up To Cancer will air tonight on Channel 4 at 7pm.
