Capcom
Mega Man – the gaming icon known for his devilishly difficult platforming gauntlets back in the NES days – is coming to the big screen in a live-action adaptation for reasons I can’t work out.
Capcom announced that the blue bomber will make his debut on the silver screen in a flick written and directed by Henry Joost and Ariel Schuman, who also worked on Paranormal Activity 3 and 4, as well as the original Catfish movie.
No, I’m really not making this up.

Capcom
Capcom had this to say on their website:
Based on the influential and globally beloved Mega Man franchise, Capcom aims to appeal to a diverse audience, including not only game players but action movie fans as well, with an adaptation that maintains the world of the Mega Man games, while incorporating the grand production and entertainment value that Hollywood movies are known for.Chernin entertainment (Planet of the Apes) will be producing the flick alongside Masi Oka, who produced the live-action Death Note, and also starred as the time travelling Hiro in the TV show Heroes. 2oth Century Fox will distribute.
Capcom are also currently working on a big screen version of Monster Hunter, starring Mila Jovovich and Ron Perlman. I’m not entirely sure how either of these projects will translate to cinematic masterpieces, but I’m happy to be proven wrong as a fan of both IPs.

Personally, if we can get Danny Devito in to play Mega Man, then I’m absolutely certain this movie will be a hit. Make it happen Capcom.
